Jackson County History by Corinne Fisher

In 1976, during the Bicentennial year, the Jackson Herald began publishing a series of articles on Jackson County history written by Corinne Staats Fisher.  Mrs. Fisher had compiled historical facts and data for  many years and edited them for publication.  The series ran for two years.  Mrs. Fisher was a native of Jackson County, a daughter of Enoch and Allie Carney Staats.  She graduated from Ripley High School, received an AB degree from Marshall University and earned her master's degree at West Virginia University.  Mrs. Fisher died November 13, 1998.
